Grant McKirdy, is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) at Fellow level, with significant expertise in both the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry and the pharmaceutical wholesale industry.
Through his experience in senior management roles for Sigma Pharmaceuticals and F.H Faulding, who are now Symbion, Grant gained detailed knowledge and understanding of the wholesale industry. Specifically, he understands all transport and operational aspects of distribution centres nationally, the buying procedures undertaken with manufacturers, customer service relationships with pharmacists, development process of sales and marketing programs, and financial management of significant divisions.
During his employment with F.H.Faulding, Grant also had responsibility for negotiating pharmaceutical distribution joint ventures in Asia and the management of these through country managers.
Grant’s wide experience and his acceptance by the industry, of his objective and pragmatic approach to industry matters, resulted in his active and leading involvement in the recently concluded negotiations with the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the Department of Health and Ageing involving the introduction of the Community Service Obligation.
Grant is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Pharmacy Practice and Management and was a Director and Chairperson of the Audit and Finance Committee until his retirement from that Board in July 2005.
