Judy Addison
Judy is a skilled learning and development practitioner. Over the past seven years she has consulted to a wide range of health and community services, including local and state governments. She is skilled at linking people management to strategic goals via:
- design and delivery of leadership and management training and coaching programs
- performance management and team building
- workplace based change and improvement projects.
Judy has a Graduate Diploma in Industrial Education & Training, a BA (Hons) and nursing qualifications. Her previous work in the international development sector in recruitment, education and cross-cultural training roles, honed her skills in participatory facilitation and planning as well as designing and leading action research / action learning projects.
The breadth of Judy’s industry experience allows her to understand a wide variety of workplace contexts and cultures. Her experience in operational and senior management positions includes public and private organisations, international development, health, aged care, public radio broadcasting and training.
She also has a track record of effectively engaging workplace stakeholders (frontline worker to senior management; government to non-government) in both her internal and consulting roles.
Recent examples of how Judy has successfully addressed organisational issues, problems and strengths in different contexts include:
- Design and facilitation of information sessions for health services, community and public sector agencies dealing with older people on Victorian government policy concerning the prevention of elder abuse (Elder Abuse Prevention Strategy - Information Session; DHS)
- Designed a competency-based performance development and review system which ensures residential care staff (division one & two nurses and PCAs) maintain and refresh skills and organisational knowledge over time (Large residential aged care provider)
- Managed a Certificate IV accredited training project, including developing a problem solving based curriculum, utilising content experts and researching, shaping and presenting technical knowledge for a predominantly non-english speaking and mixed language background learner group effectively (Victorian manufacturing sector).
- HACC Training Coordinator, Aged Services Network, Western Metro Region and auspiced by Council on the Ageing Victoria. Judy was responsible for identifying and resourcing the training needs of staff working for 85 HACC service providing organisations (DHS WMR).
- Project Officer, Vocational Education and Training, Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation.
