Mike Ralston
Mike Ralston is a highly regarded medical scientist with a strong background in the planning, delivery and organisation of pathology services. He brings to our team specialist skills and experience, which enable us to undertake a range of healthcare consulting services including pathology service reviews and strategic plans for diagnostic service providers.
As the previous owner of the Gippsland Pathology Service (GPS), Mike grew this community-based practice into a regional service for the whole of eastern Victoria. The GPS also expanded to provide a reference service in molecular pathology and special coagulation investigation for all of Mayne Health Pathology.
Mike is currently vice-president of the Australian Association of Pathology Practices (AAPP) and is heavily involved with a number of Government committees and working parties focussed on the management of pathology in Australia. He is a Fellow of both the Institute of Biomedical Sciences and the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists, and was recently awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
Mike has experience in Pathology computing, and has co-developed a pathology laboratory information system that is now used in more than 20 pathology laboratories throughout Australia and the UK.
