Norma Currie

Norma, a Director of AHA, is vastly experienced within the health, community and aged care sectors. Norma is a registered nurse, with a Masters in Business Management and has over twenty years of nursing and consultancy experience.

Norma previously worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, progressing from Registered Nurse to Charge Nurse and then to Clinical Nurse Specialist.  As Charge Nurse, her clinical and administrative duties included orientation and performance appraisals, supervision and clinical education of all nursing staff, budget monitoring, resource management, rostering and liaison with medical and allied health staff. As Clinical Nurse Specialist, Norma’s main focus was on nursing training and quality improvement.

As a consultant and Director of AHA, Norma has led most of AHA’s vast range of quality, training, assessment and evaluation projects within the community, aged and acute care sectors.

She is now regarded as one of Australia’s foremost experts on quality systems within the community care sector.  She has led the development of national quality assurance and improvement frameworks, and has taken key roles in quality assessment projects for veterans’ services, HACC, disability care and a range of other community and residential based programs.
