Suzanne Vilé

Suzanne, an Associate Director of AHA, has over 25 years experience in the health, mental health, disability, education and compensation sectors. She holds a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy and has demonstrated exceptional skills and expertise in:
  • project management
  • research
  • providing strategic policy development and advice.
Suzanne has extensive experience in consulting, management and in clinical roles in New Zealand, Western Australia and Victoria. For nearly 20 years, Suzanne worked in clinical, service development and senior management roles in mental health, health, disability and community-based programs.

Suzanne’s previous roles include:
  • Bendigo Health Psychiatric Services - Quality Improvement Manager; Education and Training Coordinator
  • North Western Mental Health Services - Project Leader for ‘Translating Research Into Practice’ project
  • Starlight Children’s Foundation - National Research and Evaluation Manager
  • Transport Accident Commission - Project Manager, Disability Strategy
  • Royal Children’s Hospital Education Institute - Team Leader , Education Advisors and Research
  • Albert Road Clinic and Melbourne Clinic - Various clinical roles.
Recent consulting projects completed by Suzanne include:
  • Service review of a drug and alcohol support organisation
  • Development of the Accommodation Strategy and Code of Practice for service providers, for a State Government body
  • Development of case management standards and file audit tool for the a State Government Auditor General’s Office
  • Collaboration on reviews of the allocation of Supported Accommodation funding for a State Government
  • Development of an accountability framework for students with disabilities
  • Two national consultations with people with disabilities or health issues and their service providers
  • Conduct of a literature review exploring the balance between duty of care and dignity of risk for people with a disability residing in Shared Supported Accommodation.
  • Development of a post-graduate course on Suicide Prevention
  • Work with the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) to collect feedback from over 100 individuals with disabilities and service providers on the proposed changes to the WHO International Classification for Impairments, Disabilities and Handicaps. The findings contributed to the Australian report forwarded to the World Health Organisation.
