The National Resource Centre (NRC) is administered by the Alcohol and Other Drugs Council of Australia (ADCA) and is a specialised information clearinghouse and library for the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector. The role of the NRC is to identify the evidence base for the Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) sector, and facilitate the application of good practice by focussing its collection services on the knowledge and information needs of the sector.
This evaluation, which was conducted on behalf of the Department of Health and Ageing, assessed the appropriateness, effectiveness and efficiency of the NRC.
Our report provided a detailed assessment of NRC's performance against its endorsed objectives regarding each of the following:
- Reference services and databases
- Communication and networking
- Providing access to research
- AOD sector leadership and membership
- Collection management
- Service quality
- Promotion of NRC services.
Findings from this process were used by DoHA to inform the development of the funding agreement for the coming three year cycle.
