FRSP Approval Requirements - Agency Assessments

The Family Relationships Services Program (FRSP) is jointly funded by the Attorney-General's Department (AGD) and the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA).  The program is administered by FaHCSIA on behalf of both Departments under a business partnership via the Family Relationship Services Branch and FaHCSIA's State and Territory (STO) network.

The FRSP aims to:
  • enable children, young people and adults in all their diversity to develop and sustain safe, supportive and nurturing family relationships; and
  • minimise the emotional, social and economic costs associated with disruption to family relationships.

A quality assurance measure included in the FRSP funding agreement is the requirement for all FRSP funded agencies to comply with the FRSP Approval Requirements.  The FRSP Approval Requirements are comprised of 15 core standards, grouped under seven key domains.  These 15 standards and their attributes are detailed in the Assessment Guide provided under Tools and Resources.

AHA has been engaged by FaHCSIA to conduct an independent assessment of all agencies, funded under the program, against the Approval Requirements.
