AHA was commissioned to assist the Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) to evaluate existing pathology monitoring arrangements and to develop an MS Excel spreadsheet, menu-driven program model which reflected the key parameters of the new pathology agreement. We developed two versions of the software, incorporating different projected service growth outlays. DoHA and members of the Pathology Consultative Committees now use the computer program on a monthly basis to monitor outlays, measure underlying trends and model the impacts of any proposed structural or fee changes.
