HACC Quality Assessment Program – ACT

First Round of Appraisals – 2004

This project, similar to the one conducted in Victoria, involved the first round of appraisals of the 31 HACC funded agencies in the ACT.

Following the training of providers, our ACT based HACC assessors conducted most of the appraisals. Appraisals were conducted from August to April 2004.  Due to AHA’s strong quality assurance measures, a high level of consistency was achieved (measured by inter-rater reliability) between the ACT and Victorian assessment programs.

Subsequent survey of agencies indicated that 93% of providers viewed the overall assessment program as either excellent (35%) or good (58%).

Second Round of Appraisals – 2009

Due to the successful conduct of the first round of appraisals in the ACT, AHA was appointed by ACT Health to conduct the second round of quality appraisals of 30 HACC service providers in the ACT.

Training for all service providers was conducted on Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 February 2009. Agency Appraisals were conducted from late March – early May 2009.
