HACC Quality Appraisal Program – Tasmania

AHA has recently conducted the second round of appraisals of 58 HACC funded non-government organisations and 14 government operated HACC services, against the HACC National Service Standards.

This project is similar to the assessments previously conducted in both Victoria and ACT, and involves training of approximately 110 agency staff in relation to the standards, desk based appraisal, site visit and assessments including working closely with the agency, reviewing evidence sources, and consulting with staff. Clients’ satisfaction with the services was assessed via a multi-lingual survey.

AHA has, as for the abovementioned HACC Standards Quality Assessments, worked effectively with a range of service providers, which vary greatly in size and services provided, and includes Aboriginal and CALD specific organisations.  Of the agencies that completed a post-audit survey, 93% rated the assessment program overall as either excellent (43%) or good (50%).  Ninety-three percent (93%) also believed they had appropriate and adequate opportunity to comment on, and provide input to, the final report and action plan.
