The Victorian Department of Human Services engaged AHA to evaluate the effectiveness of the Culturally Equitable Gateways Strategy (CEGS). CEGS aimed to expand and improve the use of mainstream Home and Community Care (HACC) services by people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.
The evaluation involved the following key elements:
- Broad stakeholder consultation with clients, project workers and DHS regional staff
- Collection and analysis of data and surveys from CEGS funded agencies
- Analysis of selected frameworks in each of the four regions in the State
- Consideration of the roles of the CEGS Project Workers, which were funded by the strategy, and recommendations regarding their future roles
- Recommendations for future development of CEGS.
