In 2011, AHA was engaged by the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA) to facilitate the Service Development Assistance Panel (SDAP) Induction Conference for panel members. These panel members are engaged by the Department to provide capacity building, professional advice and support to services in remote and very remote areas and to eligible aged care services that provide aged care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians under the
Indigenous Aged Care Plan.
AHA/Yaran also presented at the Conference on the topic of Cultural Awareness: How to Prepare for SDAP Assignments; and What to expect when entering remote, very remote and Indigenous communities.
