We are Australia's leading firm of healthcare and community services consultants and specialise in the development, organisation and delivery of training. The key to our success is our ability to distil complex matters into simple, easy-to-understand programs and deliver training in a positive and entertaining format.
Over the past five years alone, we have trained more than 30,000 managers and board members from service providers. Training has been conducted throughout all regions of Australia, involving approximately 1,000 seminars and workshops. Over 95% of participants rated our training as either excellent or good.
Recent training and education projects completed include:
- DHS has released With respect to age – 2009, the Victorian Government practice guidelines for health services and community agencies for the prevention of elder abuse. As part of the role-out of the guide, AHA was appointed by DHS to develop, promote and deliver 45 information sessions to approximately 1400 people in rural, regional and metropolitan locations across Victoria.
- The training of over 500 Victorian HACC service providers in the National HACC Standards Instrument and Guidelines. The key aim of the training sessions is to provide services with the skills required to complete the instrument in either a self-assessment or in a joint assessment situation with AHA.
- AHA planned, developed and delivered a state-wide education/training program for 200 Residential Aged Care (RAC) Services operated by the Public Sector in Victoria. These aged care facilities are mainly based in rural and regional Victoria, representing nearly half of the RAC services in those regions. The education program supported the rollout of a set of Quality Performance Indicators (QPIs) for use by RAC services
- The development of a training package for ACATs. The training aimed to improve ACATs’ knowledge and understanding of their roles and responsibilities in exercising their delegations under the Aged Care Act 1997. The training focused on the conduct of assessment and approvals in accordance with the delegation framework, legislation and policy.
- The delivery of National Delegation Training for ACATs. This project, an extension of the project outlined above, involved the delivery of intensive training to over 1,600 ACAT members through the provision of 52 training sessions across Australia.
- HACC Quality Improvement Forums. AHA presented at a number of Quality Improvement Forums being undertaken by the Department of Human Services across Victoria. AHA’s presentations at these Forums included “Meeting the HACC Standards” and “What Constitutes High Performance?”
- Community Care Accountability Framework Training. The training instructed Departmental assessors on how to review the quality of care and services provided by agencies funded under the CACP, EACH and NRCP programs.
- Aged Care Structural Reforms Training. AHA designed, trained, conducted and evaluated the training of 20,000 aged care participants in relation to the implementation of the new aged care service delivery funding model and quality assurance system.
- HACC Benchmarking of Unit Costs - NSW. The training sessions for 294 service providers were conducted as part of a cost modelling project, to identify the unit costs of different HACC service types.
