Appeals

In the case of an agency being dissatisfied with the final reported assessment scores or findings they are able to submit a completed Appeals Form to AHA. Based on the information detailed on the Appeals Form, the matter will be reassessed by an AHA Quality Assurance Director, not involved in the original assessment or report writing. This may involve a teleconference or face to face meeting with the agency where appropriate. The findings from this process will be documented and provided to the agency in writing.

In the event that the above step fails to resolve the matter to the satisfaction of the agency, agencies can submit a written External Appeals Form to request that their concerns be heard by an Appeal Panel. The Appeal Panel will be managed by Associate Professor Tony Snell from Royal Melbourne Hospital. The Agency’s concerns will be investigated by the Appeal Panel and the outcome of this review will be advised in writing to the agency within 14 days from the date the External Appeals Form was lodged.

The above two steps would only be applied where the dispute is significant in terms of the overall assessment score for the agency.
