Frequently Asked Questions

Question - When will the HACC assessments be conducted by AHA?
Answer - Assessments will commence in November 2006 and will continue through until March 2008.

Question - What does an Agency need to do once AHA advise the date of the assessment visit?
Answer - AHA will advise the action required of the Agency at the time of initial telephone contact.

Question - Will AHA be making any payment to a HACC Agency to assist in defraying any agency costs incurred in distributing the Consumer Survey Instrument (CSI)?
Answer - It is anticipated that Agencies will distribute the Consumer Survey Instrument and reply paid envelopes to their clients utilising HACC Agency staff during their normal course of contact with clients eg. during Home Help visits or at PAG activities. As such it is not envisaged that an Agency will incur any postage charges.

Question - If my organisation receives a high HACC assessment score, can we claim to be "accredited" and publicise the fact that we scored well?
Answer - The HACC National Standards Instrument assessment is a quality improvement process rather than an accreditation process. The Department of Human Services does not intend to make an organisation's assessment score public.
