Dr Clare McKinnon

Dr Clare McKinnon draws on 20 years of experience working across the healthcare, academic and government sectors. She started her career as a physiotherapist and has worked in healthcare settings in both Australia and the United Kingdom. In 2020, she completed her PhD with Monash University and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, using mixed methods to explore the pain experiences of children with dyskinetic cerebral palsy. During her doctoral studies Clare worked as a research assistant, gaining valuable experience in other types of primary and secondary research.

Before joining AHA in 2025, Clare worked at both the Transport Accident Commission and WorkSafe Victoria. In these roles, she led a diverse range of projects relating to health, disability, compensation models and workplace health and safety. She has extensive experience in conducting systematic reviews, environmental scans, focus groups, interviews, surveys, performing qualitative and quantitative data analysis and translating complex data into strategic insights.

Clare is passionate about working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders to deliver high-quality and meaningful work that meets their needs.

Clare applies her unique blend of skills in evaluation, healthcare, strategy and research to produce high-quality outputs for clients.
