This review provided an update to the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (RANZCR) on the status of magnetic resonance imaging in terms of its clinical applications, economic issues surrounding use of the technology, and expected requirements of MRI in Australia.

The study focussed on the more recent scientific literature and medical research surrounding MRI use, and the cost effectiveness of using MRI to investigate specific clinical conditions.
