AHA administered key aspects of the $35 million Establishing Quality Health Standards (EQHS) Program on behalf the Indigenous Health Division of the Commonwealth Department of Health, from 2011 to 2016. This program included three different grant/funding streams, designed to assist Aboriginal health services to improve the quality of services they provide. This grants program was previously handled internally by the Department and using an external party (AHA) to perform this role was a new approach.
