The Quality Improvement Strategy 2015/16 was implemented to support service providers to maintain focus on Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI), during the transition of HACC services (for older people) from the Victorian government to the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP).

AHA was engaged to support the development and implementation of the Strategy, including:

  • Delivery of 15 quality improvement workshops around Victoria
  • Development and distribution of an accompanying Resource Toolkit.

The quality improvement workshops and the Resource Toolkit aimed to:

  • Maintain momentum for CQI during the transition period
  • Highlight links between the Victorian HACC sector’s CQI initiatives to date and the Home Care Standards
  • Showcase Victorian HACC sector innovation in CQI
  • Inform attendees about quality assurance expectations during the transition period and provide an introduction to the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency, the agency responsible for conducting quality reviews.
This project supported HACC service providers to maintain Continuous Quality Improvement throughout the transition to the Commonwealth Home Support Program.
