AHA was engaged to conduct two rounds of quality appraisals for HACC-funded agencies in the ACT.

This project, similar to the one conducted in Victoria and Tasmania, involved:

  • Developing additional assessment tools
  • Training service providers in relation to the standards
  • Providing assistance and guidance to service providers in order to achieve quality outcomes for clients.

AHA’s strong quality assurance measures achieved a high level of consistency between the ACT and Victorian assessment programs.

The first round of ACT appraisals involved 31 agencies. In follow-up surveys, 93% of agencies rated the overall assessment program either “good” or “excellent”.

AHA was subsequently engaged to undertake the second round of HACC quality appraisals in the ACT involving the assessment of 30 agencies, and was re-appointed to conduct quality reviews against the CCCS.

The Home and Community Care (HACC) Program supports people to live independently in their own homes. Services are delivered in accordance with the HACC National Service Standards.
