Jo Morgan

Jo is a paediatric Speech Pathologist with more than 15 years’ experience working with children.

Jo has had extensive experience working in schools, early intervention, community health and private practice. Jo’s particular areas of interest and experience include working with children with language delay and disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, articulation and literacy difficulties.

In addition to 1:1 therapy, Jo regularly consults with teaching staff and integration aides, has experience with the assessment and writing of applications for students applying for funding on the PSD program and has provided Professional Development for teachers in the areas of speech, language and literacy development.

Jo spent some time working in the UK where she worked in an early intervention setting for young children with ASD providing individual therapy and consultation to teaching staff. In addition, Jo participated in a special targeted review project in which secondary students with funding Statements of Special Educational Needs for Language Disorder underwent formal assessment and review in order to have their funding levels reappraised.

Currently Jo’s work in private practice has a strong focus on assisting preschool students with speech and language difficulties to transition successfully into school. Jo is also currently working with children with specific learning difficulties with a particular focus on literacy based learning difficulties. Jo is committed to improving educational outcomes for students with speech, language and literacy difficulties.

Jo has been a member of the AHA PSD Evaluation Team since 2014.

Her qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Speech Pathology
  • Member of Speech Pathology Australia
  • Certified Practising Speech Pathologist.
